Sushi considers to be the most favorite and famous fast food in all over the world. There are several types on Japanese sushi dishes that people in Japan make themselves. Sushi is always being celebrated in every special occasion such as holidays and many traditional events that take place in Japan. In the time of Edo period, sushi was known as preserved pickled fish in vinegar. In today’s time, sushi is defined as a popular dish that contains rice that has been also prepared with vinegar. As we all may know, there are various types of Japanese sushi to choose from. Some of the most common favorite are listed below.

Nigiri

Nigiri contains tiny balls of fish along with shellfish and several other ingredients on top. There are many types of nigirizushi, the most known ones contain tuna with shrimp, some eel or squid along with octopus or fried egg.

Gankan

Gunkans are small cups filled in with rice and some dried nori which is also filled in with several seafood ingredients. There are many various types of gunkan zushi, the most known ones are called sea urchin and fish eggs.

Norimaki

Norimaki is tipically, rice and seafood, and several other ingredients rolled in with dried nori sheets. There are many varieties of rolls with different ingredients. Sushi rolls are usually made inside out which are popular outside of Japan. They are sometimes rarely to be found in Japanese areas.

Temaki

Temaki zushi are simply hand rolled sushi that looks like cones made out of nori, filled in with rice, seafood followed with veggies.

Oshizushi

Oshi zushi known as sushi being pressed, which also the fish being pressed in a wooden box with rice for the sushi roll. It is formed into a form of a very popular ekiben known as (train station lunch box).

Inari zushi

Inari zushi is a cheap sushi, which the sushi is filled in with rice and deep fried.

Chirashi Zushi

Chirashi zushi is a great dish which contains seafood with mushroom and veggies that are spread all over the sushi rice. Domburi uses regular rice that is unseasoned.
